XenApp 6.5 Installation Troubleshooting

Problem 1:

The first installation of XenApp 6.5 Server 2008R2 on a Microsoft server 2012R2.

My problem is: when starting the setup and clicking on Add server roles, I get a popup saying

"c:\temp\XA65\XenApp Server Role Manager\Startup\Startupindicator.exe exited with error code -1"

Answer: XenApp 6.5 is not compatible with Windows Server 2012.

Second Answer: XenApp 6.5 is not compatible with Windows Server 2008.

     Its compatible with Windows 2008 R2

To Identify server os Version: Run the below command on Command Prompt.

C:\>systeminfo | findstr /C:"OS"

I had the same thing happen to me several times. Then I realized that the ISO image was not fulling downloading and I was mounting an incomplete DVD to my virtual machines. The download was failing with Chrome. When I used IE8 and the download manager software I got the complete ISO and the installation went smoothly.

Removed old ISO Mapping to VM, downloaded new ISO. Now it's working fine.
